Job Description Summary: What you need to know about the role This is an SDE3 role in credit risk org. You will be focusing on building, shipping and maintaining services that power risk solutions for Global Pay Later line of business. In this role you are expected to lead, mentor and collaborate with senior engineers in understanding the requirements and drive execution autonomously. Meet our team This role is in Buy Now Pay Later Risk Platform team in PayPal Credit Risk Org. This position involves full-time, hands-on development in a scrum team of 6-8 engineers. As an engineer, you'll be instrumental in safeguarding our platform and enabling risk free transactions. You'll work on cutting-edge technologies and frameworks, solving complex problems that deals with mission critical application, and making a direct impact on the lives of millions of users. Job Description: Your way to impact Your work will be instrumental in safeguarding PayPal's core business by delivering secure, efficient checkout experiences for millions of global customers. You'll contribute to our strategic vision of a unified PayPal platform by developing innovative solutions that detect and prevent fraud, protecting our users, business, and bottom line. Your day to day Design, develop, and implement robust Java applications for a large-scale Underwriting and Fraud detection platform, ensuring it's architected for scale, supports multiple tenants seamlessly, and integrates with various internal Paypal services. Advocate for excellence and contribute to a customer-centric approach. Own the quality of your deliverables throughout the development lifecycle. Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to define and execute solutions. Thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving business needs. What Do You Need To Bring Technical Skills: Strong Design and Programming skills in Java/J2EE, Spring, and Hibernate. 5-8 years of software design and web application development experience. Experience with REST APIs, Web Services, Unit Testing, and build tools. Experience with databases like MySQL or Oracle. Solid understanding of web-based programming languages. Rich object-oriented design and analysis skills. Ability to resolve ambiguity in requirements and estimate engineering effort for realistic schedules BS degree in computer science or related fields; MS preferred. Personal Traits: Quick learner, undeterred by complex systems. Excellent collaborator, building trust with stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
